That night as I slept, I dreamed more than ever. I dreamed about a number of different things, but mot of all, I dreamed of Tori. I had the mental image of her crying because I couldn't visit her.
"You said it was okay with him! Why'd you lie to me?" She cried.
"I didn't know he was going to say 'no'. Please Tori. Don't cry," I tried persuading her, with no luck.
"You're a horrible boyfriend, Jacob! Horrible! It's over!" The phone clicked as she hung up, for the last time.
In the back of my mind, I heard what sounded like a gunshot. I looked down at my chest, and saw that there was a bloody hole where my heart should have been. I looked up to see her standing in front of me, with a gun in her hand. She hung her head in sadness.
I walked towards her to put my arms around her, like I'd done before when she was sad, but as I reached out to her, she stepped back. She turned her back to me, and started walking away. I ran after her, but something was holding me back. She was soon far out of my reach.
"Tori!" I ran with all my might to catch her. When I finally caught her, she turned and shot me again. I glanced down at the new hole in my chest, and began to fall forward onto my knees. I caught her hand to hold myself up.
I looked up at her, and she stared back down at me. Her eyes were filled with tears, as she drew the gun to her head and fired. She fell to the floor in front of me, dead. I wanted to cry, but I used what little life I had left to crawl to her. I held her limp body in my arms. I picked up the gun lying next to her, and put it against my head. A tear ran down my nose, as a shot rang out. And I woke up sweating.
I'd never thought about Tori like that until that night. She had always been in my dreams, but not like this. I 'd been scared out of my mind of what she'd say when I told her. I didn't want to lose her. Not again. I cried as I thought of her, remembering that awful nightmare. I couldn't bare the thought of my girlfriend dying, and cried some more. I knew I'd have to tell her eventually.
"Tori..."
I fell back on my bed, wiping my eyes. I looked at her picture again, and smiled. I hoped she wouldn't take it so badly.
